+ **Senior Software Developer (2003938)** **Job Overview** Lummus Technology is seeking a Senior Software Developer for our Houston, TX office. This position reports to the Director of Engineering IT and to the Manager of Advanced Tools. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and a demonstrated team-player. The position is the lead developer responsible for the development and support of Engineering Software applications and Business Systems. Projects will include development of new software products and enhancements to existing products. Will work with the Lummus Business Areas and Lummus IT.

Primary Function

Software Developer with Experience working with Engineering and Business Systems

Tasks & Responsibilities

+ Analyses user requirements; envisioning and designing system features and functionality.

+ Problem identification, determination and resolution (Bug fixes)

+ Designs and develops user requirements. Tasks include Build and Unit test, System test, support to Integration testing, acceptance testing and production release.

+ Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development vs. purchase alternatives.

+ Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.

+ Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules and priorities, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting any development and/or production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

+ Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

+ Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

+ Follows IT standards and services delivery processes/systems

+ Develop and maintain roadmap to ensure application sustainability

+ Maintain application development environment including compilers and source code repository

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or Engineering from a regionally accredited institution.

+ Excellent presentation, comprehension, writing and verbal English language skills.

+ Proficient in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile and Waterfall

+ Successful Project Management experience overseeing development and migration activities for custom enterprise or commercial applications.

+ 10 years of employment experience working for a Technology or Engineering Company

+ 10 years of Software Applications Development and Support experience

+ Proficient in Java, .Net, Delphi and Fortran programming languages (Excel VBA optional)

+ Familiarity with relational database systems (SQL server, Oracle)

+ Familiar with ITIL (Certification a plus)

+ Understands systems architecture (client, web, cloud and DB)

+ Excellent documentation skills

+ Expert in GIT and Azure DevOps

+ Certified/trained in Agile/Scrum processes

+ Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
