Cost Accountant - Robert Half Management Resources (Texas)

Company in NE Fort Worth has a contract-to-hire Cost Accountant with Manufacturing experience.
This is a contract-to-hire position.
Cost Accountant is to assist in the cost accounting functions such as, monthly costing of products, prepare cost analysis, account reconciliations, postings, inventory control, reporting, documenting cost accounting controls and procedures, and recommending improvements to the process. Prepare financial analysis on inventory and product costs from a variety of sources and report findings.
Cost Accounting Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs cost-accounting activities covering material and production costs, costs of sales, product development, overhead, through finished goods
• Analyzes and monitors raw material, WIP, Finished Goods Inventory
• Responsible for month end Gross Margin report—Includes invoiced sales and COGS.
• Analyzes and costs manufacturing work orders following company's costing system
• Build relationships with departments that effect inventory and cost of sales. Ensure their information is received timely and accurately
• Partner with Controller in preparing monthly JE’s for inventory, production, and cost of sales.
• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual production costs, this includes product margin reporting and analytics
• Help develop and maintain annual or quarterly rates

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Highly Preferred.
- Minimum 2 years accounting experience.
- Prior cost accounting experience highly desired.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, Intermediate to Advanced in MS Excel, Quick Books and JobBoss preferred
