The Medical Technologist performs various laboratory tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The incumbent receives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis and applies techniques used in fields of bacteriology, parasitology, hematology, serology, blood banking, urinalysis, chemical and morphological examinations. The Technologist assumes responsibility for problem solving, instruction of new employees and quality control and instrumentation. The incumbent must manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger/fear/hostility/violence, handle multiple priorities and be able to work alone. The incumbent can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence.

Medical City North Hillsis an 160 bed acute care facility that serves the growing population of Northeast Tarrant County. In addition to specialty care in Cardiovascular and Women's Services, Medical City North Hills provides adult and pediatric outpatient surgery, and is also home to Texas' first children's outpatient surgery center.

* Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology; required education and training culminating in certification by a National Agency or military laboratory certificate of training representing 52 weeks or greater of training; or qualify as testing personnel under CLIA 88
