Description
The Jr. System Engineer will help provision, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. You will help to deliver mission critical infrastructure and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. Qualified system engineers will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering or systems engineering and analysis.

Responsibilities
+ Manage and monitor infrastructure systems
+ Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system software and system management tools
+ Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
+ Monitor and test systems performance for potential bottlenecks and work with teams to implement solutions
+ Assist in writing and maintaining custom scripts, automation playbooks, and automation tasks to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
+ Participate in an on-call rotation for support during releases and issues requiring immediate attention
+ Triage with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
+ Working in virtual environments with complex configurations
Requirements
+ BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related experience
+ Administration experience with Linux based systems
+ Familiarity with scripting and/or automation tools (bash, python, ansible, chef, etc.)
+ Basic knowledge around cloud environments
+ Understands basic networking functionality (OSI, TCP/IP)
+ Experience monitoring systems and services
+ Ability to troubleshoot and solve time sensitive problems
+ Knowledge of general system security concepts
