Description: A Shipping/Receiving Specialist job in Richardson, TX is currently available through Belcan. This is a contract to hire role with one of medical device clients. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping and receiving and material handling for onsite material. To be considered for this role, you will need to have a High School diploma or equivalent; and 0 to 2 years' experience in the medical device industry or warehouse environment required.
Shipping/Receiving Specialist Job duties:
* Inspect received shipments to confirm that contents match packing slips, manifest and purchase orders.
* Determine shipping method for materials, applying knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
* Prepare bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials.
* Work with Purchasing to address materials issues in conformance, damaged goods, items short shipped and non-conforming materials.
* Works closely with Quality to ensure only released material is placed into inventory, delivered to the production floor, prepared for shipping.
* Prepare materials for shipping.
* Contact carrier representative to plan and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
* Record shipment data, weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes.
* Manage material movement using Kanban tracking to ensure production material is always available to assemblers
* Issue releases to suppliers in accordance with production usage and Kanban card flow.
* Perform regular and comprehensive cycle counts for all stockrooms including consigned inventory locations.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* 0 to 2 years' experience in the medical device industry or warehouse environment required.
* Punctuality and good attendance
