Corporate - Control Manager - Data Analytics and Product Development - Associate - JPMorgan Chase (Texas)
Firmwide Control Management (CM) is designed to ensure a strong and consistent control environment across the organization from front office to back office, regardless of line of business or functional area. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business (LOB), Function and Region, we have a comprehensive coverage/accountability model that promotes firmwide dialogue and consistency in approach and solutions.
The CM Controls Room team works collaboratively with other control disciplines and oversees existing control functions as well as the development of new control functions and protocols. This process enables the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner and provides the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the firm.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of analytics and product development by brainstorming and developing reports through detailed analysis of operational risk data. You will work with business subject matter experts and LOB Control Managers, as well as partner with our Technology software engineers to perform analysis and develop solutions to turn complex, technical concepts into reporting outputs that drive insights for both analytical and non-analytical audiences.
The ideal candidate will combine deep data insight and a strong analytics skill set with a product development lifecycle experience and understanding. Hands on experience conducting complex analysis on large data sets, involvement in story writing and product development, and a keen eye toward program, project, and analysis completion to meet deadlines are vital for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
+ Improve internal risk and control program by performing end-to-end analysis, from data extraction to report/visualization creation, on operational risk data
+ Design, develop, and deliver reports that can be leveraged by various business units across the firm
+ Develop best practice approaches for user research and dashboard/report design and development
+ Partner closely with technology in the development of proposed solutions
+ Develop an in-depth understanding of risk and control program strategies and apply this knowledge to improve projects, determine solutions, and resolve issues
+ Manage/participate in multiple project work-streams concurrently
Qualifications
+ Quantitative background (BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science) with an extensive experience of working with technology partners to develop products. Masters preferred.
+ Experience translating user requests to technology requirements using agile management tools like JIRA
+ An understanding of the agile methodology
+ Experience using analytics and visualization tools/libraries (Python, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.) to distill findings into insightful analytical solutions for stakeholders
+ Experience working with large complex data sets, drawing conclusions, and reporting findings
+ Experience project managing small to large scale projects
+ Experience working with internal control and risk management is a plus
+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of functional groups at various levels
+ Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability
+ Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
