Internal Communications Manager - Wolters Kluwer (Texas)

The **Internal Communications Manager** will develop and execute the communications strategy and oversee the day-to-day execution of the internal communications plans for those areas. This position will act as the senior communications partner to one or more business unit/functional area GMs and their leadership teams, responsible for building and executing the communication plan to enable the overall business strategy and employee engagement.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
+ Build relationships with Executive leaders and other key stakeholders within and across areas of responsibility, act as trusted communications advisor
+ Understand and translate the strategy, priorities and messages of business unit executives and their leadership teams into a compelling strategic communications plan and ultimately, communications deliverables/materials
+ Drive the development of consistent and effective internal messaging to support the organization's business objectives, values, mission, operational initiatives, and other key initiatives
+ Oversee the accurate, timely, high impact implementation of the communications plans, programs and tactics through appropriate channels – including internal announcements, all-hands and town hall meetings, kickoffs, employee events, video scripts, speeches, intranet content, recurring newsletters, and special interest news; implement both through individual contributions as well as executing through others
+ Contribute to wider communications strategy development and initiatives across the division and WK; effectively coordinate and integrate BU/FA communications initiatives into the corporate and divisional comms flow
+ Informally influence and guide work of other resources where relevant.
+ Implement and oversee measurement techniques to ensure the usage and effectiveness of communications channels
+ Stay abreast of best practices and tools to improve internal comms strategies, plans, and materials
+ Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Qualifications
Education:
+ Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent
Experience:
+ 7 years of internal communications and/or corporate communications experience
+ Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field
+ Expert knowledge of general office and communications software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Polite Mail, Easy Movie, Yammer; Web-based tools such as Canva, Powtoon)
+ Experience in using Adobe Creative or similar suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
+ Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality and discretion
+ Proven track record demonstrating the ability to quickly understand an organization’s communications objectives and strategies, and to develop and execute creative communications plans that enhance and support those strategies
+ Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; suitable for senior executive level interaction
+ Ability to learn the business/area and work across groups to provide advice and tactical support in a proactive manner
+ High level of professional maturity to work well with all levels of management and staff
+ Detail-oriented, highly organized and focused
+ Expert knowledge of internal communications best practices
+ Ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
+ Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance and lead projects and on-going activities
+ Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and to build consensus
Travel requirements
+ Up to 20% travel including locations outside of the US
