Oversees, develops and analyzes policies and practices related to project management and the project management office. Develops, analyzes and oversees project quality assurance and resource allocation. Enhances program and project management capabilities and operational oversight. Develops, edits and executes project plans to manage the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects. Defines, develops and deploys standardized project management tools and templates to ensure projects are completed efficiently.

Job Function: Project Management

Develops, edits and implements project plans to manage the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects (i.e., resources, scope, schedule, cost, assumptions and dependencies). Manages work streams, prepares status reports and interfaces with stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution are aligned with defined objectives. Coordinates and communicates the activities of project personnel with relevant stakeholders to ensure progress within time and budget constraints.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Director, Program Management is responsible for the management (planning, organizing and implementation) of large complex strategic programs.

These programs are typically highly visible initiatives with significant impact on business or product viability and ranging across multiple disciplines, businesses, and/or organizations.

The Associate Director for the execution of their project and its impact on the program) to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program(s).The incumbent will be responsible for reporting on the health and overall program efforts with sound metrics and analytics. S/he facilitates Steering Committee and/or Executive Committee level program team status meetings and all other communications. The Associate Director should have advanced skills in finance, cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation and conflict resolution.

Essential Functions:

+ Provides end-to-end project management ownership of scope, schedule, budget, risks and issues management across various Lines of Business (LOB)

+ Understands and assesses critical paths and dependencies for delivering and shipping products and facilitates discussions between project teams, product management and engineering.

+ Understands customer perspectives and delivers success aligned with overall business strategy.

+ Provides program direction and leadership; effectively communicating program updates to executive sponsors, business stakeholders and project team members.

+ Serves as a technical advisor and/or knowledge resource for clients, as appropriate.

+ Fosters collaboration and teamwork between internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

+ Develops detailed project plan to deliver project objectives.

+ Proactively leads a team of developers to meet or exceed project objectives, with a forward looking emphasis on mitigating risks and removing roadblocks.

+ Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate tools and techniques.

+ Performs continual risk management to proactively foresee and develop plans to minimize project risks.

+ Communicates project information to team members and project shareholders in a timely and accurate manner. This includes weekly project team meetings, gate meetings, and visual management updates

+ Performs risk management to risk management planning, identification, analysis, responses, monitoring and control on a project. Increase probability of positive events.

+ Performs project planning to establish an overall project plan, including key milestones, and drives progress to achieve project plan within time and budget constraints. Understand and coordinate sequencing of projects to accomplish progress.

+ Aggregates, organizes, and synthesizes program and project information in order to communicate with extended team and management

+ Evaluates existing processes and procedures. Makes recommendations and drives process improvement and adoption of best practices (processes, tools, etc.) to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.

Other Functions:

+ Recruits, trains, develops, motivates, sets goals, and provides on-going feedback to a team of direct reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinate managers and professional staff. Is responsible for the strategic guidance, development and evaluation of employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Santander’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

+ Education -

+ Bachelor's Degree

+ or equivalent work experience

+ Master's Degree: MBA Desirable

+ Experience -

+ 9-12 years Program management experience, including customer interface with a track record of delivering successful results.

+ Skills & Abilities -

+ Extensive knowledge of project management and advanced leadership skills.
