JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
This role is part of a team that performs research / data modeling / analysis on subjects that have key implications for ETR’s long-term growth. Examples of such subjects include: trends in the utility industry at-large, trends in Entergy’s electric utility load, the makeup of Entergy’s customers, and the commercial environments impacting customers (of all classes / segments). The team also provides project support for ETR’s innovation and business development efforts.
This particular role is expected to primarily focus relevant macroeconomic trends and market fundamentals in the natural gas, NGL, LNG, and petrochemical industries.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Develop data analyses and modeling frameworks related to Industrial load categories (e.g. Refining, steel, petrochems, etc.)
+ General, regional and statewide trends / macroeconomic forces impacting the utility business and its customers
+ Supply, demand and drivers behind some of the major commodities that drive Entergy industrial load.
+ Economic drivers relevant to our customers’ businesses (e.g. Gulf Coast energy industry economic drivers: commodity supply & demand frameworks; price setting mechanisms)
+ Conduct ad hoc research in utility load segments.
Develop and maintain deliverables necessary for sharing findings and insights from the above (e.g. short-, medium-, and long-term market analysis for crude, natural gas, NGL, LNG, and petrochemical industries).
As project needs arise, research trends and industry fundamentals pertinent to specific commercial development efforts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education required of the position
Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Data Sciences, Engineering and other analytical fields or equivalent work experience.
Desired: MBA, MS Economics, MS Finance, or MS Analytics in related areas.
Minimum Experience required of the position
_*This role will be filled at the Financial Analyst I or II level depending on candidates experience and skills*_
+ Financial Analyst I: 0 - 2 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
+ Financial Analyst II: 2 - 4 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
Preference is for candidates with an understanding of energy, power, electric utility, commodities (especially North American and global crude, natural gas, NGL, LNG, and petrochemical fundamentals)
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
+ Solid proficiency in advanced Excel modeling
+ Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
+ Strong organization skills and attention to details
+ Ability to communicate complex matters in a clear and logical manner
+ Understanding of energy markets and electric utility business models
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills
+ Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization
+ Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
