Survey Party Chief - ALLEN BUTLER CONSTRUCTION - Lubbock, TX
Allen Butler Construction, Inc. is seeking a full-time Survey Crew Member to join our growing team. ABCI, is a local mid-sized heavy highway civil construction company, established in 1978. Work includes anything from major earth moving to bridge construction.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is responsible, highly dependable, and has the ability to work with limited supervision.
Job Description
Will work primarily in the field establishing control, performing construction layout, and generating as-built surveys as surveyor for a heavy civil and earth moving contractor in the Lubbock, Texas area.
Primary Responsibilities
Communicate timely and accurately with Survey Manager on a daily basis to establish workload and its associated needs. Perform construction layout work competently and accurately as specified by Survey Manager. Construction Staking: Offsets, Hubs, Stakes, & Laths. Analyze construction drawings and other documentation as needed to complete surveys. Oversee and direct the daily activities of Rod Man, providing training in regards to surveying practices and procedures.Qualifications
Minimum 3 years experience in construction surveying and layout. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and details for heavy civil projects. Proficiency in the use of total stations, GPS Receivers, and data collectors. Basic computer skills in Microsoft excel and AutoCAD desired. A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Ability to work independentlyPhysical Requirements
Perform work duties in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. Walk long distances, work long hours, and travel out of town for work when necessary. Ability to carry survey instruments and equipment. Lift 50 pounds.Required Education
A high school education or equivalent is required including a background in math, geometry, and trigonometry
