QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a current license or privilege to practice nursing in the state of Texas; Have been actively employed in nursing for the past 3 years or have advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and/or nursing administration; Have had 3 years varied nursing experience since graduation; Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility.Duties and responsibilities include:
Provides instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives stated in the syllabi of the assigned courses and creates a wholesome, meaningful learning environment in the classroom and campus/clinical Implements curriculum offerings within guidelines set by Frank Phillips College, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and Board of Vocational Nurse Assists with scheduling of classes and campus/clinical laboratory Monitors and reports student' s progress. Accrues 15 contact hours of continuing education Meets classes and labs as scheduled and promptly notifies Director in the event of an absence. Be responsible for all initial nursing procedures in the clinical area and ascertain that the student is competent before allowing the student to perform an actual nursing procedure independently. Provides adequate supervision of students in the clinical learning experiences; Ensures that students are competent in nursing skills and procedures before implementing them in hands on patient care;Job Type: Full-time
