What You Will Do
As(PA) Physician Assistantin Trauma and General Surgerywith Seton Family of Hospitals-TX, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician. In this role you will work on a PRN rotating days, nights and weekends, with availability to cover two shifts a pay period or four shifts a month max, this could be less. We are hoping to have someone to fill in the gaps if a team member is on PTO, or attending conferences. You will primarily handle all inpatient and day to day care, admission through ED and all category traumas. In addition to general surgery admission and consultations.
Responsibilities:
+ Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
+ Provide and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
+ Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
+ Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
+ Required Credential(s):
+ BLS Providercredentialed from theAmerican Heart Association (AHA)obtained within3 Months (90 days)of hire date or job transfer date.
+ LicensedPhysician Assistantcredentialed from theTexas Medical Board.
+ CertifiedPhysician Assistantcredentialed from theNational Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
+ Preferred Credential(s):
+ Advanced Life Supportcredentialed from theAmerican Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
+ Diploma
+ Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program Master's degree preferred
Work Experience:
+ Trauma or General Surgery experience a plus
+ First assist a plus
