Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Tech works under the direction of the Pharmacist and Department Director. The delivery of care is based on criteria that is age appropriate and is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. The CPhT performs technical functions for the department to operate efficiently through the proper handling, preparation and distribution of medications, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. The CPhT performs delegated duties consistent with the appropriate scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery.

Must be a Certified Tech (CPHT) and licensed in Texas

Must be in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

Must be IV Certified

Must have high school diploma or GED

Knowledge of Pharmacy and Automated Dispensing Machines preferred

Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED required

+ Certified Tech (CPHT) and licensed in Texas required

+ License in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

+ IV Certification preferred - 90 days after hire to become IV Certified

+ Knowledge of Pharmacy and Automated Dispensing Machines preferred
