Scheduler - Round Rock Medical Center - Round Rock, TX
Schedules patient testing/ procedures/admissions; obtains precert/authorization scheduling or registration system; obtains and enters insurance information; answers incoming phone calls.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required : Have a high school diploma or equivalent. One year hospital scheduling experience. Evidence of successful completion of a medical terminology course and/or take a written test and obtain a passing grade of 85%. A test on medical abbreviations will be required with a passing grade of 85% (this test may be given separately or with the medical terminology test).
Preferred : Have had some college courses (20 credits minimum). At least three years of scheduling experience in a hospital or clinic setting with OR/Surgery and/or Radiology experience. Experience with Meditech or a comparable scheduling system. Office equipment experience (fax machines, various telephone systems, printers, scanners, PC and copiers). Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
