Command Center Service Specialist - North Texas Tollway Authority - Plano, TX
Responsibilities:
Monitors roadway activities by monitoring radio calls, reviewing video and camera information on current conditions and accidents, posting information for signage, contacting other resources, facilitating removal of vehicles, and monitoring agency facilities.
Provides radio dispatch by dispatching appropriate units or agencies to calls upon assessment of circumstances and the acquiring of information, determining appropriate department or crew for response, maintaining communications with personnel in the field, maintaining, sending and confirmation information to assist with each circumstance, and monitoring other calls.
Maintains records by entering information into databases, submitting reports as required, and recording and filing documents.
Completes routine general office duties by maintaining a variety of official logs; contacting other departments to obtain or provide pertinent information, typing, filing, and answering general inquiries.
Researches information by entering data, answering and responding to radio traffic, making and receiving phone calls, researching databases for information, and sending information to requestors.
Qualifications:
Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six-months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.

Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees.
Decisions regarding implementation of policies may be made. Contact may involve support of controversial positions or the negotiation of sensitive issues or important presentations.
Receives General Direction: The employee normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance is reviewed periodically.
Skilled: Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization.

Intermediate - Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Basic - Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Intermediate - Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Valid driver's license, TCIC/NCIC and NLETS/TLETS certification
