CareerStaff Unlimited is looking to hire an experiencedRegistered Nurse - RN - Correctional Facility within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. * Dates: 1/11/2020-4/7/2021
* Shift Time: 6am-6pm
* Typically on a 4 on, 4 off rotation
* This unit is a lot different than most as it is set up more like a hospital setting rather than what your average prison looks like.
* The goal is to stabilize the inmates at the unit so they can go back to a permanent housing unit and have outpatient treatment as needed.
Weekly Estimated Pay: $1285
Weekly Taxable Pay: $900
Weekly Housing Stipend: N/A Provided
Weekly Meal Stipend: $385
*Rates may vary based on stipend needs
JOB DETAILS FOR RN REGISTERED NURSE – CORRECTIONAL FACILITY:
* Provide a basic level of general nursing care to forensic clients, patients or inmates with mental, emotional or developmental disabilities
* Provide care under the clinical direction of a registered nurse or physician
* The ability to easily integrate into new settings
* Knowledge of various computer systems
* A desire to expand nursing skill set or varied experience
LICENSURE CREDENTIALS REQUIRED FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE:
* Valid Texas/Compact REGISTERED NURSE - RN
* 2 year of RN Med-Surg, ER or Correctional experience.
* Must be eligible to work in the United States
* BLS (Basic Life Support) issued American Heart Association or American Red Cross
