QA Technician - Aerotek (Texas)
Description:
Quality Technician is to perform all routine testing of raw materials and finished products in accordance with established methods in order to assure product quality and safety.
Testing includes:
fat, total solids, pH, viscosity, protein, EQA, titratable acidity, peroxide testing, aerobic plate counts, coliform counts, yeast and mold counts, and antibiotic residue testing.
- Raw material samples are pulled from the raw receiving area of milk tankers and submitted for immediate chemical and microbiological analysis.
- will monitor additional product samples going through shelf-life testing and retention programs.
- Additional testing includes; plant utility water, wastewater, package analysis, and occasional environmental monitoring and special project testing.
Documentation:
- Computer skills are necessary, will be expected to document in excel and write professional emails to quality team
- will present data and immediate problems regarding food safety and quality to management for immediate action.
- Provide weekly reports to management outlining completed tasks, issues that occurred and goals.
- Will have the authority to take immediate corrective actions when dealing with Food Safety and Food Quality issues and is required to report these issues

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• lab testing experience from school or work - MUST be familiar with pH, viscosity and titrations
• must be able to multitask consistently - will be setting timers in the lab to complete multiple tests at once
• must stay busy throughout shift - if there is ever down-time they must keep busy or ask if there is anything else they can do
• excellent computer and math skills - including excel and word knowledge
• excellent personal organizational skills
excellent written and verbal communication skills
