The Field Technician – Joint Use is responsible for collecting detailed technical information about electric utility and telecommunications facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities:
+ Work in an outdoor environment to collect data specific to client projects.
+ Submit organized, detailed data for each project that may include maps, field notes, and digital images.
+ Operate and maintain equipment that may include laptop, IKE device, tools and personal protective equipment.
+ Work professionally, safely, and independent of supervision.
+ Communicate effectively and on a daily basis with the General Foreman.
Job Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent with a technical background preferred.
+ A working proficiency with MS Excel/Word/Outlook
+ Ability to travel up to 100% of the time and to work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.
+ Ability to follow process specifications and guidelines in an extremely quality focused environment.
+ Experience using IKE equipment a plus.
+ Knowledge of NESC requirements a plus.
+ Basic knowledge of electric distribution and telecommunications systems a plus.
+ Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and-or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
+ Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices.
The incumbent may be subject to the following conditions: extreme heat and/or cold, noise, atmospheric elements, and hazards.
